Cloud Computing Quiz: The answers
A couple of days, I published the Cloud Computing Quiz, please refer to the following link to take the quiz. Here are the answers and comments on the quiz.
- Challenge 1: Is Cloud Computing still growing?
Yes. From 2009 on, the yearly growth of Cloud Computing services has encountered a steady growth of up to 15% per year in terms of number of users.
- Challenge 2 : The Cloud is 100% safe from cyber attacks?
No. As with all Internet related services (private or public), the need for a solid security plan remains a necessity. All of these services are subject to cyber attacks from (mostly) external parties.
- Challenge 3 : More than 1.000.000.000 people make use of Cloud services?
Yes. Gmail has now already more than 400 million users, Dropbox over 50 million, Facebook claims to have approximately 1.1 billion users. 40% of the top 500 companies in the world claim to make use of Cloud Computing in some form.
- Challenge 4 : Cloud Computing creates IT jobs?
yes. And it does not take away jobs from other related IT tasks. The need exists (and will remain to exist) to have skilled network system administrators, data communication specialists, application developers, web developers, database administrators and so on.
- Challenge 5 : Cloud has something to do with the weather?
Yes and No.
If you refer to the white things in the sky, then yes. Clouds are large collections of tiny droplets of water or ice crystals that float around in the air under the influence of the winds.
Cloud Computing is not related to the weather, altough a study performed in August 2012 by Wakefield research, reveiled that 51% of the respondents believed that stormy weather can have an influence on Cloud Computing.
