Rumour has it that Apple will present it's next iPhone model (or even multiple models?) on September 10th. Different than previous years, Apple really needs to come with innovation to turn the negative tide in the post-Jobs era.
In a context of decreasing market shares for iPhone & iPad, Apple has to prove that it's still innovative after Steve Jobs. Something which Larry Ellison (photo), CEO of Oracle and longtime friend of Steve Jobs, has expressed his doubts about. He stated in an interview that "We already know Apple without Steve Jobs", referring to Apple's dark times between 1986 and 1997 when Steve Jobs left Apple and the company almost faced bankruptcy.
Let's hope Apple will debut some cool new products & features to turn the negative spin around. Here's a summary of the most likely rumours:
- Apple will launch the iPhone 5S which will have a fingerprint scanner in the Home button for authentication, an improved CPU and camera and is also available in a new color: Gold.
- Apple will launch a cheaper iPhone 5C which is a plastic version of the iPhone which domes in different colors and with an inferior non-Apple CPU.
And who knows? Maybe they'll announce a totally new product as welll, like the long rumored iWatch or the Apple Television. We'll know it all on September 10th...
