Late 2015, IBM published the eighteenth study in a series of CxO studies developed by the IBM Institute for Business Value.
It is a report that shows how CxO members reflect on what the future holds in terms of business. Over 5.000 business leaders from all around the globe were interviewed, so I believe it is worthwhile mentioning some conclusions of the report.
The report identifies three initiatives to make your company stand out better against the competition:
- Be ready for digital invaders
- Create a panoramic perspective
- Be first, be best
Without going too much into the details of the 40 page report (download here) , one important conclusion is that technology is important in today’s business and that it will become even more important in the upcoming 3 to 5 years. Beyond this border, the CxO family believes cognitive technologies (systems that understand natural language, and that learn by itself) lie next on the horizon.
