Great Place to Work has voted IT company EASI Best Workplace in 2020. EASI receives this award for the 6th time in a row in the category of companies with less than 500 employees.

This year, 100% of the employees indicated that they believe the company is a Great Place to Work. Last year, EASI also introduced a cafeteria plan to meet the different needs of their employees even more.

Award for Connective Leadership

In addition, for the first time EASI also receives an extra award. This is the Connective Leadership Award. This award was presented by Prof. Dr. Marion Debruyne of the Vlerick Business School. The reason given was that employees give EASI particularly high scores because management involves them in decisions and appreciates extra efforts. The combination of bottom-up and top-down management is rewarded with this award.

Extraordinary times

The impact of the coronavirus affects all companies. Even Great Places to Work. Courageous measures are needed to quickly get out of this crisis, says CEO Thomas Van Eeckhout. "Our executive committee also decided last week that since this week all our employees are working remotely. We all have a responsibility if we want to flatten the curve".

Culture of trust

EASI is a highly value-driven company. Even today, the company is noticing the impact of this. "Positivity is one of our core values. Although all our employees currently have to work from home, we notice that everyone is doing everything they can to help our customers and the teams work as constructively as possible," says CEO Thomas Van Eeckhout.

"In addition, we give our employees a lot of confidence right from the start. The strength that comes from such a positive group is enormous. Nobody wants to betray the trust placed in them, and we have just noticed that the strong culture of trust at EASI only reinforces the group feeling at the moment".

Maintain the group spirit

As a company, EASI has been committed to transparency for years. Not only does it make it easy to follow up certain projects if someone falls out due to illness, it is also a reassurance for our employees, says Thomas. "They know that we keep them informed on a daily basis, and we also regularly send them tips on how to maintain a sense of belonging. The importance of good, transparent communication to, between and with our employees is crucial and cannot be underestimated. It brings peace in uncertain times.

Staying positive

In addition, the CEO also has a general message. He asks his network, colleagues, clients and partners to continue the business as much as possible, to be creative and to find ways to continue the projects he has started and even to start new projects. "It is in situations like this that technology can help us," Thomas says.

"We don't know yet how long this situation will last, but our economy can't afford a collective vacation of a few weeks. Therefore, as Best Workplace, we have confidence in our collective ability to adapt and to remain positive, and we hope that this can be contagious for others".
