A couple of weeks ago, for the first time since the beginning of Cloud2be, we had to activate our maintenance window.
This means that during a window of 24 hours we are allowed to do maintenance tasks that could disrupt services for our clients.

Why did we need to activate this for the first time?

Our infrastructure has grown quite a lot over the last years and is now becoming bigger and thereby more complex. This means it's complex to update some of the systems without causing downtime for our customers.

When did this maintenance occur?

It started on Saturday, February 11th at 22.00 o'clock and ended on Sunday 12th at 22.00 o'clock.
Our technicians were on site Saturday evening and worked all night long to avoid disrupting the services during the day.

What was done during this maintenance window?

  • Firmware upgrade of our network backbone infrastructure
  • Firmware upgrade of our main storage infrastructure
  • Testing of connectivity failover

We are now fully up-to-date again and this in order to provide an even better availability for our customers.
