About Teams
Microsoft Teams is the so-called Slack-killer app from Microsoft integrated in their Office 365 cloud software package. It is a unified communications platform that combines chatting, video meetings, app integration and file sharing. It is a logical evolution from the Skype for Business application and Microsoft Lync.
About Citrix integration
Microsoft Teams will be supported on Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops through Citrix HDX Optimization. This technology makes it possible to process media like audio, video and screen sharing on the local device instead of the Citrix Server. HDX Optimization was already developed for Skype for Business and Lync and will now be introduced for Microsoft Teams.
It will offer high quality audio and video including VOIP support integrated in your Citrix environment without compromising your server and data connection performance.
How do I get it?
This solution will require you to update your VDA servers to the still to be released "Current Release" of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops. The Teams application will also be updated before offering this new technology.
