The OCR can fly with its own wings!

As a reminder, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a process of automatic recognition of characters, that has been integrated in our accounting software since a long time ago. It allows to import all kinds of information from a digital invoice or from a scanned document, and book this information directly in your accounting.

If you're not using Adfinity, but still want to benefit from the advantages of OCR-technology, we can propose our Standalone OCR.

How does it work?

The system is very simple: you drop your files in a certain folder, and then our tool will OCR-ise them. When this task is completed, you'll get access to a screen where you can validate the information that the system took from the scanned documents.

In this screen, you can add or correct information and export the data to a format of your choice (XML, txt, ...). This file can then be imported in your own system. The format of the exported file can be adapted to fit your needs.

Custom fields

On top of the basic fields that are recognised (invoice number, date, expiration date, ...), the user can add the so-called 'Custom Fields'. These are fields that are defined by the user and are used to take even more information from the documents.

As an example, some customers need the EAN-number (European Article Numbering) from their gas- and electricity invoices.  They can add a custom field that will look for this information in the documents, and then add this information to the export-file.

The system is self-learning, because it will learn from you. After having looked up the EAN-number yourself manually on some documents, the software will be capable of doing it for you!
