Not that long ago we got a call from a well known legal office (we can not mention their name due to legal reason). They became (like so many companies) victim of a ransomware virus... They lost a big number of files, but were able to restore them out of backups.
They did got their files back, but there was an RPO of about 24 hours, as their backup only runs at night.
This together with a high RTO, because of the numerous files that had to be restored + cleaned up, made them realize that their backup solution might not be ideal for the use-case.
By Googling they found an article I wrote back in July & decided to contact us.
