Ze beheerden Windows-instellingen en handhaafden beveiliging op schaal. Maar de realiteit van IT vandaag is veranderd. Werknemers zijn mobiel, apparaten zijn divers en on-premises connectiviteit is niet langer vanzelfsprekend. Alleen vertrouwen op GPO zorgt vaak voor extra frictie voor zowel gebruikers als IT. Het langdurig beheren van GPO’s wordt steeds complexer. Het ontwarren van bestaande configuraties blokkeert vaak moderniseringsinitiatieven nog voor ze kunnen starten. Intune biedt een duidelijke, moderne weg vooruit — een die aansluit bij hoe bedrijven vandaag werken. ## GPO vs. Intune: de shift begrijpen ### Waar GPO sterk staat 👍 On-premises Active Directory 👍 Windows-only omgevingen 👍 Apparaten die regelmatig verbinding maken met domeincontrollers ### Waar GPO tekortschiet 👎 Remote of hybride gebruikers buiten VPN 👎 Omgevingen met gemengde apparaten (macOS, iOS, Android) 👎 Cloud-native Azure AD omgevingen ### Waar Intune uitblinkt 🚀 Beleidshandhaving overal via HTTPS 🚀 Ondersteuning voor meerdere platformen 🚀 Gecentraliseerd beheer Intune sluit aan bij de noden van moderne bedrijven. Het vermijdt legacy-problemen en stroomlijnt het beheer over alle apparaten heen. ## Risico’s van blijven werken met GPO Vastzitten aan GPO? Dit zijn reële uitdagingen: ⚠️ Policy drift: instellingen bereiken externe apparaten niet gemakkelijk ⚠️ Beveiligingslekken: geen native integratie met Conditional Access of compliance-regels ⚠️ Grotere supportlast: remote troubleshooting wordt vermoeiend ⚠️ Legacy-infrastructuurkosten: afhankelijkheid van VPN’s en domeincontrollers blijft GPO werkt nog steeds, maar sluit niet meer aan bij hoe gebruikers vandaag werken. ## De praktische voordelen van overstappen naar Intune De overstap brengt betrouwbare verbeteringen in het dagelijks gebruik: ✅ Altijd-beleid actief: geen VPN nodig ✅ Geünificeerd beheer: Windows, macOS, iOS en Android beheren vanuit één portaal ✅ Ingebouwde beveiliging: inclusief Conditional Access, Defender en compliance-checks ✅ Zero-touch device onboarding met Autopilot & Device Preparation Veel klanten draaien vandaag volledig op Intune. Beleid is makkelijker uit te rollen, aan te passen of te verwijderen waar nodig. Het werkt in verschillende soorten organisaties, zonder de ballast van legacy. ## Hoe de overstap maken Een gefaseerde migratie werkt het best: 1. Maak een inventaris van je actieve GPO’s 2. Voer Group Policy Analytics uit om te zien wat eenvoudig kan migreren 3. Gebruik Settings Catalog policies voor ondersteunde instellingen (of Endpoint Security voor zaken zoals BitLocker) 4. Start een pilot met een afgebakende groep 5. Activer **MDMWinsOverGPO** pour gérer les chevauchements 6. Gebruik policy baselines om toewijzingen te standaardiseren over tenants of afdelingen ## Een slimme, doordachte overstap Intune biedt misschien nog niet 100% van de GPO-functionaliteit, maar het dekt de instellingen die het meest van belang zijn en groeit maand na maand. De voordelen zijn duidelijk: flexibiliteit, bredere apparaatondersteuning, eenvoudiger configuratie en betere afstemming op hoe gebruikers écht werken. Goed ingericht betekent cloud-based beleid minder infrastructuurproblemen en betrouwbaardere resultaten. ## Volgende stap Je hoeft niet te haasten, maar je hebt wel een plan nodig.
