What does DigitalWallonia4.AI do?
DigitalWallonia4.AI is the official AI program of the Walloon Region. Its goal is to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence among companies, public institutions, and research organizations in Wallonia.
The program supports concrete AI projects, fosters collaboration between experts and organizations, and contributes to the development of a strong and innovative AI ecosystem in the region.
What is a Start IA project?
Start IA is one of the key initiatives within this broader program. A Start IA project is a short, focused mission where we help companies identify concrete opportunities to use AI.
We analyse key elements such as:
🔎 Where AI can create real value
🔎 How digitally mature the organisation is
🔎 Which AI use cases are realistic and achievable
🔎 How internal teams can be involved and prepared
At the end of the project, the organisation receives a clear and actionable roadmap they can immediately implement. These missions usually take just a few days to a few weeks and are fully tailored to the needs of each company.

Financial support: an extra push in the right direction
The Walloon Region regularly opens subsidy calls for Start IA missions. This financial aid can cover all or part of the costs of working with a certified expert, making AI even more accessible for companies.
⚠️ Please note: These subsidies are not always available. They are granted during specific application windows, which are not announced in advance. When they are open, they present a valuable opportunity to kick-start an AI project with expert support.
